For this project, I got inspiration from old vinyl covers and posters that use collage and textures. I aimed for a vibrant design with bright colors, an experimental cover, and lots of texture.
To achieve this, I tore pieces of craft paper, scanned them, and adjusted them in Adobe Photoshop. I created visual textures with paint, linocut, and monoprint techniques, shaping them into musical instruments using Photoshop. In Adobe InDesign, I arranged these visuals on double spreads, opting for a two-column layout to maximize the booklet space. The accent is on the headings, leading the eye to the name of the artist, the date of the concert, and then all the information needed for the concert & the persons.
The poster takes a similar approach, having the same textured paper and experimental typography but being a little bit more minimalistic. I am counting on the bright colours and bold letters to attract the viewer’s attention, so if there were to be any visuals on it, it could have been more distracting.
